MAC & NYX Cream Lipstick Review

by : Rosye Beadle

Hello lipstick lovers,

How’s your day? Hopefully beautiful and happy. If not, there’s a say : “when you are sad add more lipstick on and attack!”. I’m a fan of creamy lipstick, so today I’d like to review lipstick from two brands at once. They are MAC Cremesheen – dozen carnation shade and NYX extra creamy lipstick – fig shade. Both are creamy and semi glossy.

First, MAC Cremesheen – dozen carnation. It claims that it provides immediate shine, long term hydration. The dozen carnation shade is a warm orange with pearly shine.

and here’s what it looks like on..

It’s comfortable on my lips, I love the creamy look, pigmented, easy to be applied, it last through eating and drinking, the color is too prominent for me during day.

Second, NYX extra creamy lipstick – fig shade, a dark neutral pink. It claims that it has mineral-based emollient formula.

and here’s what it looks like on..

It’s lightweight, just right smell, lovely pink shade, good for daily usage, affordable price, comfortable on my lips, I can see my lip lines even after two times application, it doesn’t last through eating and drinking. If you’re the type of ‘I’m wearing lipstick’ person , so it’s not the color for you unless you like the very soft lip’s look like I am.

Thank you for reading and don’t hesitate to leave any comments. Cheers 🙂

3 Fashion Rules to Break Now

(By : Rosye Beadle)

There are some myth or rules in fashion that need to be followed. For example when people wear black shoes it should be match with black or dark bag. Why don’t we try to think out the box now. Let’s take a look.

Myth 1 : Bag should match the shoes

That’s what the myth says, but who would stop you to play with the color or pattern of your bag and shoes? Not necessarily waiting for a special occasion to get a different look. Take a look this nice mix and match idea from Chanel.

Myth 2 : No Stockings with Open-Toe Shoes

Nothing wrong to wear stockings or tights with open-toe shoes. Pair the dark tights with bright color shoes. For example silver shoes with black tights. Personally I like to wear black stockings against gold shoes or dark grey stockings against my red or blue or shoes. If you want to push the boundary more, try bright color tights against any color of shoes.

Myth 3 : You Have to be Tall to Wear Long Dress

Even if you are shorter, you can wear any outfit you desire including wear a long dress. Find a good tailor to get the best fit.

BATIK : A Creative Art with a Profound Meaning

(By : Rosye Beadle)

Batik is an art and craft which is inherited from ancient Java tradition in Indonesia. In Javanesse tik means dots. Batik is made by drawing lines, dots, or arch of the resist with a tool called a canting ( a pen-like tool use to apply liquid hot wax).

To create Batik, First the wax need to be applied over the pencilled-in outline of pattern, the part covered in wax resist the dye and remain the original colour. Next step the cloth is dyed in the first dye bath, then the second wax is applied. The next process, the cloth is dyed in the second dye bath. The last process, the cloth would be boiled in order to remove the wax.

There are several Batik patterns that have been used since the beginning of Batik creation. Each pattern has the meaning and some of them show the status symbol of the wearer. For example Sida Mukti pattern, Sida means to become or to have done which express the hope to achieve spiritual happyness. Sekar Jagad means a beauty and grace that impresses people, or Truntum that was created by a queen in Java in seventeen century. Truntum means everlasting love that continues grow. There are at least twenty known base patterns with various meaning.

Several designers have developed Batik in a contemporary style. The contemporary Batik Indonesia patterns use animal, myth, flower or combined with a classic style. Young people like to wear contemporary Batik. Because of its unique pattern, Batik is now printed not just on traditional cotton or silk but also in leather or in hard material such as ceramic and wood.

There are numbers of public figure that have publically worn Batik such as : Nelson Mandela, Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Carlos Santana, Julia Robert, Reese Whitterspoon, Heidy Klum.  Oscar de la Renta used batik as the base of one of his design that was worn by Jesica Alba.
